Family Law
I have specialised in Family Law ever since I started as a Trainee Solicitor in 1996. I have covered the full range of Family work including Private and Public (care proceedings) children work, divorce, and property / financial proceedings of all sizes and levels of complexity.
I regularly appear in the local Magistrates and County Courts in respect of children and financial cases. Where necessary I will recommend the involvement of other appropriate experts including Barristers, Accountants, Pension Actuaries and Surveyors. I am familiar with many professionals and firms around the Island and Hampshire, and have built up excellent contacts and a good reputation for practical and reliable advice over nearly 30 years.
As you would expect from someone who has chosen to qualify as a mediator, I always adopt a sensible approach and am looking for ways to reduce animosity and identify the relevant issues at an early stage. However, if Court work is necessary then I deal with as many of my own hearings as possible, up to and including final hearings.
